Decorative plaster
One of the most popular groups of finishing materials is a decorative plaster. The idea of creating the final layer of decorative material having, on the one hand, high decorative properties, and on the other - masking fine cracks and surface defects, and even slight unevenness of walls, can not be called new. The first samples of such materials have been established for over 50 years ago. The composition of these materials include synthetic resin, which may be in the form of dispersion or solution, solvent, filler and various additives such as thickeners, preservatives, hydrophobic (water repellent) matter, antiseptic and biocidal components. Decorative plaster can be divided into two groups by type of binder: materials, water and non-aqueous basis. The bulk of the decorative plaster on the basis of a non-aqueous binder has as epoxies and polyurethanes. The advantages of these materials include high wear-resistant coatings for aggressive environments, toughness and good adhesion to the base - they can be used not only for the walls, but also for flooring. The most common bonding decorative compositions are water-based. It is acrylic, styrene acrylic, polyvinyl acetate and styrene-butadiene dispersion. Each bond has its own peculiarities. Most commonly used coatings based on acrylic dispersions. In addition, the decorative plaster differs in the filler material and method of the pattern formation surface. Fillers for decorative plasters are marble, granite or quartz chippings or a mixture thereof. Plaster on marble chips has good adhesion to the polymer, but has not a high resistance to abrasion and scratching. Grain marble chips have a rough surface. Granite chips also have a rough surface, high adhesion with polymer binders, but its durability gives the plaster a good resistance to abrasion and scratching. According to the method of the pattern formation of plaster can be divided into three large groups. The first group contains no crumbs of quartz, marble or granite. Drawing on a surface, trimmed with a plaster applied to the relief roll, putty knife and special brushes. Obtained as a result of such processing is called structural relief cover. The second group of plasters is containing granules of mineral filler. After drawing on the wall, they spread with a spatula or trowel, while on the surface appear furrows, grooves, scratches and similar relief. The third group is the so-called texture plaster. Roller or spray applies them without any further processing. The surface, depending on the material used may be monochromatic or multicolored, a chipped stone, marble or granite. Figure thanks to this plaster obtained truly deluxe.
